"Conflicts over summer vacation especially occur where one parent remarries and the

visitation, both parents have good intentions trying to plan a summer vacation
that's fun and interesting for the kids. In fact, attorneys say most parents are
planning the summer months with their children in mind.

"A lot of parents chose to make summer vacation a problem when it doesn't have to
be," says Rosen. "Many times they're using the scheduling of the vacation to create
a situation so there's engagement with the other parent because of unresolved issues
in their relationship, but in the end it's the children who suffer."
